Surprise! Guess who’s gay?!

January 30th, 2011 by admin

Jonathan Knight gay

NKOTB member Jonathan Knight is gay. All you girls who had posters of Johnny on your wall probably feel betrayed right now as dreams of doing the chicken dance with your soon-to-be husband floated through your head. Sorry bitches. It isn’t going to happen. Ever. But he could be your bestie?

Anyhow, it was last week that Tiffany, bubble gum pop star from the 80′s, ‘outed’ Jonathan. But Jonathan is saying that we all knew he was gay.

Say, what?

That’s right, Jonathan said that he came out to peeps years ago. He came ‘out of the closet’ 20 years ago.

On his official blog he wrote, “To all my fans who have expressed concern: I have never been outed by anyone but myself. I did so almost twenty years ago. I never knew that I would have to do it all over again publicly just because I reunited with NKOTB! I have lived my life very openly and have never hidden the fact that I am gay. Apparently the prerequisite to being a gay public figure is to appear on the cover of a magazine with the caption, ‘I am gay’. I love living my life being open and honest, but at this time I choose not to discuss my private life any further! My fellow band members don’t discuss their private lives with their loved ones and I don’t feel that just because I am gay, I should have to discuss mine!”

So there you have it!

EXCLUSIVE: Oscar Nominated Taraji P. Henson gets real!

January 30th, 2011 by admin

Taraji Henson interview

It was back in 2003 that Taraji P. Henson showcased her talent on her first gig on Lifetime, starring on the police drama The Division. Several years later, after numerous versatile movie roles and an Oscar nomination for her role in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, the fierce actress has taken on her first based-on-a-true-story character role. Henson goes back to Lifetime to play Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story, a powerful true story of a New York woman who risks her life to get her son back who was kidnapped by his biological father and taken to Seoul Korea.

Taraji Henson told Celebrityviplounge.com exclusively that what sealed the deal for her on taking this role was Tiffany Rubin’s powerful story. Henson said, “I hadn’t even read the script and I basically accepted the role based on my manager telling me what the story was about, that it was a true story, because I have never played a real life person up until that point. All of my career, all of my characters have been fictional. So there was excitement in actually playing a real person. And then her story just amazed me. I always like playing women who aren’t victims, who are victims but they don’t settle for being a victim.”

But powerful and deeply emotional roles have been Henson’s forte. So how does she prepare herself for these roles psychologically? Taraji told Celeb VIP, “I guess the first thing is just reading the script. I read my scripts over and over. Even while we’re filming, I’m still reading the scripts because you’re always in a different place and you pick up different information depending on the day and your mood. So that’s basically what I do. I just read, read, read and I try to get to why the character is the way they are. For the emotional stuff, a lot of times it’s on the page. Sometimes I have to draw from personal experience, it just depends.”

And as a single mother of a 15-year old son, Taraji was able to take her experiences as a mother and place herself in the shoes of Tiffany Rubin.

Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story premieres on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 9 pm ET/PT on Lifetime. But first you will want to check out the documentary Beyond the Headlines: The Tiffany Rubin Story, which airs right before the movie.

You will want to check this one out. Don’t forget to grab the Kleenex!

Ian Bernado is hoping third times the charm!

January 30th, 2011 by admin

Ian Bernado American Idol lawsuit

American Idol contestant Ian Bernado is desperate for that ching! That’s right peeps, Bernado will not give up! The Idol reject has sued Idol twice before with no luck. And now he’s trying one more time in hopes that lowering his requested payment from $500 million to $100 million to now $5 million will get Idol bosses to budge.

Details below!

It was back in 2006 that Bernado tried out for Idol and got the boot. But it wasn’t the fact that he got kicked off the show that broke his heart. Bernado is claiming that producers “exploited” his homosexuality. The producers’ supposed demands? “Gay it up”.

It was just back in September that Bernado filed the papers a second time. TMZ is reporting that the lawsuit was dismissed.

So what do you think? Should he win?

Superhero Oscar Connection

January 30th, 2011 by admin

What do this year’s Oscar nominees have in common with Superheroes?

The Oscar nominees were announced on Tuesday, and expect to see many of the stars on the red carpet in some of your favorite films based on comic book in the near future.

We can start off with host Anne Hathaway, who was just cast as Catwoman’s alter ego, Selina Kyle, in “The Dark Knight Rises.” Best Supporting Actress Nominee for her breakout role in “Winter’s Bone,” Jennifer Lawrence, will play the young blue mutant Mystique in “X-Men: First Class.” Three big screen superheroes are in the running for Best Supporting Actor. Two of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes from Marvel’s “The Avengers” will be pitted against each other — Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), nominated for his role in “The Town,” shares the category with Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/The Hulk), who earned his nod in “The Kids Are All Right.” Just think if new Spider-Man, Andrew Garfield, had been nominated for his turn in The Social Network.

Not to be outdone in this category, Batman himself, Christian Bale, is nominated for “The Fighter.” Christopher Nolan, whose “Inception” was nominated for Best Picture (but was snubbed for a Best Director nom), will complete his Batman trilogy with Bale with “The Dark Knight Rises.”

Natalie Portman, the frontrunner for Best Actress for her role in “Black Swan,” will be seen in “Thor”as the Norse God of Thunder’s mortal love interest, Jane Foster. Portman’s “Black Swan” helmer Darren Aronofsky (also nominated in the Best Director category), is set to re-team with 2009′s Oscar host Hugh Jackman on “The Wolverine” (a stand alone adventure for the popular “X-Men” mutant). The two previously worked together on “The Fountain.”
